Does not meet the description. There is no swimming pool or pedal boating. What Bath? Parking extremely limited and don’t trust the advice to park on the street, you will get a parking ticket. I could go on but the page isn’t big enough. Also the sash windows are extremely dangerous and do not meet building regulations. Seriously disappointed and extremely overcharged.

Great location for tourists. The room was clean and all the hotel staff were friendly. Breakfast was great.

We enjoyed our stay but the only thing that bothered us was that the mattress was not comfortable.

Cosy, calm and warm. Blankets are very commfortable. There's a nice view over the city, and it is close to the University (5-10' walk).

    No elevator.

Comfy room. Plenty of complementary tea and coffee. Well located for the university. Excellent breakfast. Very friendly, helpful staff. Good value for money.

    Fabulous

Have always enjoyed good rapport with manager Iain over the past few years. I average about 2/3 weekend stays a year.

To be brutally frank I feel the single room is way behind the double room in terms of decor & facilities.

    Very good

It was ideally located for our needs.we were attending a gig at Oran Mor nearby.

We were allocated a comfortable spacious room but it was directly beneath the breakfast room so extremely noisy from 6.45 am onwards...absolutely no chance of a lie-in!!!!

Lovely Victorian hotel. My room was light and airy and had a very relaxing ambience. Very clean.

    Fabulous

My family room was over looking Great Western Rd. The bed was comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities were good. The staff were friendly and laid back and breakfast was good and service quick. The hotel was quiet and peaceful inside and out. The girl at reception on my last day phoned for a taxi for me and was very friendly.

My room I was allocated at first wasn't clean ( error by maid) and I was offered 2nd room which was next to kitchen.I thought this would be noisy. Finally I was given a family room upgrade which was lovely. The man behind desk did carry my suitcase up stairs for me. He didn't carry suitcase up stairs first time and that would have been appreciated as I was carrying 2 other bags. There is no lift and for someone who would be elderly/unfit climbing the spiral stairs which are narrow in places (could be over 2 flights) would be tricky.

Nothing, the advertisement and booking form said car parking -2 spaces for 27 rooms does not equate to car parking especially when these are used by staff. The constant locking of the door means you feel you are inconveniencing staff when you need to ring to get back into building and also makes you feel that you are in an unsafe area. The romms are dirty stayed four night and bedding not changed. Breakfast is abismal, Staff appear hositle but okay when you start to chat to them- a clear sign that they are un-happy in their jobs- management need to look at job satisfaction and also refurbishing rooms. No legal checking in proceedures followed.

    Very good

Proximity to university and to shops, restaurants, cafes. Free wi-fi, a real plus. No added phone charges when using calling cards. Can store luggage for free on day of departure.

No lift! The steep winding staircase is a real challenge when you have luggage. No offer from staff to help with luggage either, coming or going. Very few hangers in closet; had to ask for more. Had to ask for iron and ironing board; iron streaked my clothes with something that had been burned on the bottom by a previous guest; cover on ironing board was worn so thin you could see the metal through it. The first staff member I encountered was initially brusque, almost rude, but warmed up after a while, presumably because I continued to treat her with respect and appreciation. Then she was fine; the other staff members were kind and helpful, especially the young-ish woman from Poland at the desk the day I left.

Everything- great breakfast, helpful staff, nicely decorated room with a bay window overlooking great western road. Perfect!

    Superb

Incredibly well located for the university, the hotel was spotless and the staff helpful. Wi-fi worked perfectly, the bed was comfortable and the roome was enormous for the price. 24 hour reception was a bonus.

Breakfast left a little to be desired - why turkey strips? There's no call for it surely...bacon couldn't be that much more expensive.

    Exceptional

Lovely welcoming atmosphere with no unwanted attention from staff. They were friendly and available but not intrusive. Beautiful, clean, comfortable and quiet room. I have stayed a number of times and love the fact that I can get a quiet night's sleep. Great breakfast, central location to all that Byers Road has to offer and very close to transport links. I would highly recommend you as great value for money.Thank you

Some visitors might find the stairs a problem.

    Exceptional

This is a pleasant small hotel in the West End of Glasgow that seems to have been modernised and upgraded recently. The hotel is on a main road but the terrace is set back from the road so this is not a problem, except it can be difficult to find from the street or in a car. Pay close attention to the arrival instructions to avoid difficulty.

The achilles heel of this place is the breakfast which has the feel of being inspired by a fast-food factory of 'slop it out quick and have 'em through the doors'. The dining room is too small for the number of bedrooms and is a crush in the morning. The most curious feature is however the traditional Scottish breakfast which offers the very untraditional turkey rashers instead of bacon. Either the kitchen staff are the only people in the world who love turkey rashers in the morning and look forward to a daily feast of what the guests say a big no thanks to, as many people were doing including myself, or they've got shares in Bernard Matthews. Whoever thought up this very untraditional twist on the traditional breakfast dropped a clod!
